Description

EHS Officer - County Louth. This position is being offered as a 12 months' fixed-term contract. In this capacity you will work with the EHS Lead to ensure the organisation complies with its legal obligation relating to all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety. The EHS Officer is key to sustaining robust EHS Management Systems while facilitating continuous improvement in these areas. The EHS Team will support the plant during expansion and further developments while consistently promoting a positive culture among Associates and Management. Core responsibilities will include: Implement any changes required to ensure the site maintains compliance with both regulatory and corporate requirements. Facilitate EHS meetings and liaise with EHS Representatives and departmental stakeholders to drive EHS actions and initiatives. Lead incident investigations, involving suitable participants, enabling effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing appropriate corrective actions, tracking to a close. Continuously promote a progressive, forward-thinking EHS culture among management and associates. Manage risk assessment programmes, ensuring all areas of the process are appropriately assessed and reviewed with the suitable stakeholders. Create EHS procedures, review and update existing ones and assist in their rollout to staff. Develop content and deliver training to associates. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems and ensure follow up actions are closed. Prepare the site for audits under the guidance of the EHS Lead. Drive crucial projects for risk reduction and carbon footprint reduction. Support and promote important engagement initiatives for Environment, Health and Safety. Interested applicants should have at least 2 to 4 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment. You should have a suitable third level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science and Health or a related discipline. A proven track record in project management. Strong planning and organisational ability. You will have the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach with a commitment to learning.
