Description

Moulding Technician (Toolmaker) - County Louth. We are recruiting Moulding Technician (Toolmaker), who will work on a shift basis, and who will continuously monitor the performance of a wide range of moulding equipment and automation to ensure that production and quality targets are maintained. The role is quite unique, and we are looking for people from a Toolmaker/Technician discipline, from an injection moulding background. As Moulding Technician (Toolmaker), you will provide hands-on technical support to ensure the efficient operation of the moulding department. A rapid response to line downtime situations is critical and the focus will be on equipment yield & efficiency. A good knowledge of complex injection moulding processes & moulds with relevant experience is required. This role involves a rolling shiftwork pattern (4 days on 4 days off. Your responsibilities will include: Continuously monitor the performance of a wide range of moulds & moulding equipment and automation to ensure that production and quality targets are maintained, while operating within the constraints of the validated processing window at all times. Ensure appropriate action is taken to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner using a systematic approach to problem solving. Install and set-up a range of multi-cavity moulds and automation for production. Complete mould repairs as required to ensure optimum mould performance. Start up and shut down of moulding presses and ancillary equipment, applying industry best practices at all times. Responsible for mould preventative maintenance and compliance to mould PM schedules. Complete and document in full all preventive maintenance activities in a timely manner using the approved CMMs systems. Support continuous improvement activities to help optimize the performance of the moulding department. Responsible for Housekeeping and 5S initiatives within the toolroom as directed by manager. Adhere to spares management systems and procedures for mould repairs. Participate fully in project teams as required. Comply fully with changes in Quality system and EHS procedures. Liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops as required. Complete all assigned training in a timely manner, e.g. quality improvements, new procedures, changes in methodology, etc. Assist with the training of general, technical and apprentice resources as required. Interested applicants should have a technical qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Toolmaking, acquired through apprenticeship or 3rd level, and will have a minimum of 2 years' industrial experience in an injection moulding environment. Knowledge of injection moulding roboticss would be a distinct advantage.
