Assistant Lecturer in Computing. Application details/procedure: School of Informatics and Creative Arts. The School of Informatics and Creative Arts is a multi-disciplinary school, located in the PJ Carroll Building since 2010, which spans and binds together areas of digital technology and the creative arts. The School’s mission is to CREATE an environment to foster Collaboration, Research and Enterprise in Arts and Technology through Education. The School has three departments: • Department of Computing Science and Mathematics; • Department of Visual and Human-Centred Computing; • Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music. The Post: The School wishes to recruit an Assistant Lecturer in Computing. It is envisaged that a part time panel will be created for any suitable vacancies that may arise. Applicants must hold a primary honours degree in a relevant discipline and ideally have a postgraduate qualification of at least Masters level and have a minimum of three years’ post qualification experience. A relevant PhD and/or relevant industry experience is of advantage. Applicants should have expertise in at least two of the following areas: • Computer Hardware, • Computer Security, • Creative Computing, • Database Systems, • Networking, • Software Development, • Web Development and Technologies, • System Administration, • Cloud and Virtual Technologies, • Augmented and Virtual Reality, • 3D-Animation. The appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level across a range of areas within the Computing discipline. Closing date: 07/08/2020.
