This is a high profile, senior position within the construction sector in Ireland. The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to expand their horizons through collaboration and networking with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary construction community of Ireland. In promoting excellence in concrete design and construction, the successful candidate for this role will play an crucial role in the sustainable development of the Irish construction industry. Responsibilities of appointee: To promote the widespread adoption of training courses, particularly the Concrete Ticket, and develop future formal training offerings. To promote and develop lectures to inform and educate members on technical matters. To grow membership through promotion of company. Management of the day-to-day activities, including collaboration with Council members and other stakeholders, both national and international. Liaison with other professional and industry organisations. Responding to and managing requests for technical information and advice. Requirements* This role will involve working under the direction of, and reporting to, the directors and Council of the Society. The successful candidate must have the ability to: Work as part of a small team and to promote participation among members and committees. Highly self-motivated and have a professional enthusiasm for the construction industry more importantly - concrete as a construction material. Third level qualification, preferably a degree in a construction discipline, and have experience in the construction industry. Excellent networking, communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this role. As is a good working knowledge of information and communications technology. Strong business development acumen. Management and administrative abilities. Experience is essential in concrete technology, design or construction. Own transport and travel is expected in this role. Initial 2 year contract will be offered following successful completion of a 6 month probationary period. Supporting documentation for any qualifications and references required*.
