Systems Integration Architect - County Louth. The successful candidate will join a team of motivated and focused engineers, having responsibility for design, development and support, through to mass production, of projects. Primary Responsibilities and Tasks: With regard to embedded and electronic system design: To assess all new projects and review existing designs in order to identify and define the optimal system architecture, with particular focus on: adaptation of standardised platforms, design re-use, product portfolio compatibility and integration, and practical product evolution (good – better – best) strategies. Work with the product groups to rationalise, and where possible harmonise, product concepts to comply with these optimised architectures. In conjunction with company and external technical resources, provide the lead in the design, development and deployment of IoT based solutions in compliance with the strategic development plan/roadmap. Research and report on new and innovative technologies which may be integrated into theproduct portfolio. Where appropriate, lead the development and integration of new concepts andtechnologies. Collaborative Responsibilities and Tasks: Take the lead in the development and implementation of test processes and procedures toverify design operation, product life cycle and compliance to internal and international standards. Coordinate with company personnel and external organisations to ensure the efficientgeneration and dissemination of project documentation, including system specifications, bills of materials, design files and technical support documentation. Provide a high-level of input into the development and maintenance of standard operatingprocedures (SOP. Collaborate with national and international group companies, partners and projectstakeholders to ensure successful project delivery within specific time and budged constraints. Take the lead in design reviews and problem resolution. Requirements for this role: Interested candidates must have a relevant degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or arelated discipline with circa 3 years' plus experience. Enthusiastic, self-starter with good initiative and energy. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to engage effectively at all levels. An understanding of systems design engineering, control and communication principles. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an abilityto understand complex problems and generate appropriate pragmatic technicalsolutions. Proven ability to analyse technical development/design issues andmanage them through to resolution. Prototype build and test. Experience of product design to relevant international standards. Implement and control technical changes during the products life cycle. Good knowledge of industry specific codes and safety standards. Specific requirements – Embedded software development: Embedded software development experience using C/++ programming, bare metal, OS, RToS, utilising development toolsets for 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers. A knowledge of Python programming language would be advantageous. Experience in communication protocols including: SPI, I2C, LIN, Modbus, RS232, Wi-Fi,Bluetooth, bespoke multi-hop bidirectional wireless protocols. Concise understanding of embedded systems architectures. Experience in development of software applications to interface and control circuitscontaining analogue, digital and power components. Specific requirements – Electronics hardware development: Ability to read, analyse and understand electronic schematic diagrams. Ability to conduct theoretical analysis and rudimentary simulations. Mixed electrical and electronic circuit analysis and debug. Mixed digital, analogue and embedded system circuit design, simulation andimplementation. Concise understanding of embedded systems architecture. Schematic design and Printed Circuit Board layout. Mixed electrical and electronic circuit analysis and debug.
