Production Engineering Manager - County Louth. In this role you will leadall manufacturing engineering, encompassing capital and process development projects, by providing superior technical knowledge. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES. • Implement and manage continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes. • Reduce waste and variance by applying Lean tools and principles in order to increase efficiency and productivity in the factory. • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice production engineering; planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance and support growth strategy. • Act as the main interface / conduit between the Supply and R&D functions, facilitating improvements to the assembly process through product / process changes, in a timely manner including NPD. • Manage the Production Engineering team, performance management and development, assessing priorities and providing direction to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest of standards (operational excellence. • Develop detailed work instructions for the assembly of the product range ensuring they are assembled to correct technical standards utilizing tools and fixtures to remove any H&S or Quality Assurance risks. • Create plans and budgets in support of the growth strategy. • Develop, implement and track department budgets and headcount requirements on a monthly cycle. • Develop department KPI’s which reflect the improvements achieved and report on a monthly cycle. • Reduction of End to End cycle time across all platforms with the aim of improving facility H&S, Line Balance, adherence to Takt times and RFT activities etc. • Integration of new / updated designs into the current production processes and complete an appropriate commissioning program to validate success. • Implementation of continuous improvement programs across all assembly platforms / locations ensuring compliance with lean principles. • Continuous management, review and correction of production level BOM’s for all platforms. Essential Requirements for this role: • At least 7 years’ managerial experience in a similar role within a manufacturing / assembly company. • Degree in mechanical / manufacturing engineering. • In-depth knowledge and experience of DFMEA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP and Lean Manufacturing techniques. • Knowledge of techniques and tools for process improvement (Six Sigma. • Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production. • Proven strong focus on Health & Safety, Q.A. • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD and ERP systems. • Ability to work in a multi-functional team, high-paced and multi-task environment.
