Injection Moulding Technician - County Louth. This position will operate on shift. The role: • To provide hands-on technical support to ensure the efficient operation of the moulding department. A rapid response to line downtime situations is critical and focus will be on equipment yield & efficiency. A good knowledge of complex injection moulding processes with relevant experience is required. • The Moulding Technician is responsible for continuously monitoring the performance of a wide range of moulding equipment and automation to ensure that production and quality targets are maintained, while operating within the constraints of the validated processing window at all times. The Moulding Technician will also be involved in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives and ensure smooth operation of the plant. This role will assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials, debugging etc. This person will liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops. They will assist with the training of other technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required. This person will be expected to fully participate in company-wide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams as required and utilising appropriate quality tools as applicable. You should be computer literate and fully use all current and new IT/processing systems. Your responsibilities will include: • Complete mould repairs as required to ensure optimum mould performance start-up and shut-down of moulding presses and ancillary equipment, applying industry best practices at all times. • Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition. Correct and/or report unsafe conditions and other faults. • Support continuous improvement activities to help optimise the performance of the moulding department. • Install and set-up a range of multi-cavity moulds and automation. Interested applicants should havea minimum of 2 years' industrial experience as a Toolmaker or Moulder, preferably in the medical/pharmaceutical industry. Previous experience of injection moulding / maintenance or toolmaking is essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to apply a scientific approach to problem-solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. This role will include shift work.
