Mechanical Design Engineer – 3D CAD. Ardee, Co. Louth (and Dublin. €Negotiable DOE. Leading the way within the mechanical engineering field, our client works with a global customer base on a wide variety of ground-breaking products and complex projects. They are now looking for a number of Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team in Ardee, Co. Louth for a long-term customer project. This is an exceptional opportunity for a mechanical design professional with great 3D CAD skills to take on a fresh challenge with an exceptional company offering great rewards. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take part in a range of exciting machine design and product development projects. You will work closely with industry leading customers, dividing your time between our client’s office in Ardee and company/customer offices in West Dublin. You will be exposed to a variety of mechanical engineering challenges. You’ll primarily undertake projects for machinery and products for the transport, food processing and waste handling sectors to develop state-of-the-art products. You’ll create detailed 3D CAD models using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, engineering drawings and bills of material and manage design data. Liaising with suppliers, you’ll ensure that components can be sourced and are in-line with specifications. Additionally, you’ll occasionally write technical documents and supervise the manufacture of prototypes, ensuring that they are developed in-line with design specifications and customer requirements. To be considered, you will need: - At least one year’s experience in a mechanical design role. - 3D CAD skills, ideally with SolidWorks. - Strong research skills and the ability to understand and apply technical documents. - Strong mechanical aptitude. - An honour’s degree (Level 8) in mechanical engineering or a similar qualification. Result and detail oriented, as a Mechanical Design Engineer, you must be customer focused with strong interpersonal and English communication skills, both written and verbal.
