Toolmaker. Co Louth DESCRIPTION Our clientmanufacture competitive and innovative precision machined components and sub-assemblies. As a key member of the Engineering Team you will ensure effective production of tools and specialized parts used in the manufacturing process. Qualifications & Experience: National Craft Certificate in Toolmaking or equivalent. Minimum 3 years toolmaking experience. Experience working with and mentoring apprentices desirable. Experience of CNC machines and CADCAM packages advantageous. Person/Skills Required: Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills. Good knowledge and understanding of computers. Responsibilities & Duties: Responsible for reading specifications to identify features and requirements of tools. Responsible for the manufacture of jigs and fixtures. Verify finished parts by using measuring instruments to check conformance of dimensions and alignments to specifications; repair and modify as required. Perform maintenance on machine tools and related equipment. Technical troubleshoot and implement new processes and systems as developed. Participate in continuous improvements, initiate programmes or new systems that will enhance operations in line with company objectives. Attend and facilitate internal meetings to help establish priorities and assign tasks. In conjunction with Quality, solve customer related problems and issues as required.
