An immediate opportunity now exists for a Laboratory Technician to work with the EPS Operations team in Louth. The successful candidate will be based at our Drogheda laboratory. If you have the following key requirements we are interested in hearing from you; Attain appropriate qualification in environmental science or chemistry. Have at least two years experience in a process industry (ideally with a background in water and/or waste water treatment. Experience of wet chemistry analytical techniques such tests for suspended solids, dry solids, BOD, COD and using test kit apparatus such as Hach test kits. Good communication skills. A good command of the English language and being able to communicate well both face to face and on the phone at all levels within the company and with clients and statutory bodies is essential. Role and Responsibilities include; Working on a large sewage treatment works. Liaising with operators and maintenance staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment works and sewage pumping stations. Taking, collecting and analysing samples as required on the various process streams. Investigating and reporting on process optimisation and process troubleshooting issues. Routine process monitoring of treatment processes to ensure compliance and cost effectiveness of the various O&M contracts in place. The ability to interpret and produce technical reports is required. The production of reports for both EPS and Clients working to agreed schedules. Carrying out routine operational and process activities as required at the treatment plants and the associated pumping stations. The role involves general duties both inside and outside in all weathers. The job will involve manual work at times. Working alone and in a small team. Work will include some support for operators and technicians in other areas to cover holidays, sickness and training. A flexible person who is self motivated, a self-starter who manages their time for the benefit of the particular activity they are involved in.
