Overview of Role: Our client in the North East area is looking for an Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. To provide back-up cover and support to the AR & AP teams on a daily/ weekly/ monthly basis as required and to provide relief cover for reception daily breaks and annual leave. Responsibilities: Reception. To provide back up and support for reception for annual leave periods and daily break times. Greet and welcome visitors, customers and suppliers. Ensure the visitor’s record book is completed and advise relevant staff member of visitor’s arrival. Answer all incoming calls in a timely manner and redirect calls as appropriate. Ensure the reception area is clean, presentable and portrays a business like image at all times. Liaise with couriers/ delivery personnel for all incoming and outgoing packages ensuring that correct process is followed for the security of valuable items. Book couriers/ taxis/ flights/ accommodation as requested and ensure correct procedure/ process is followed. Process incoming and outgoing mail and ensure correct procedure/ process is followed. Account Receivable/ Accounts Payable. Process Master data requests for the opening of new customer and supplier accounts as required. Process any Master Data updates required/ requested for existing customer and supplier accounts. Cross train with other team members to ensure full knowledge across group ledgers on all business critical tasks. Provide holiday support cover across the team as and when required for all aspects of accounts receivable and credit control. Any other ad hoc duties as outlined/ requested by your manager. Required/ Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Accounting Technician Student or Part Qualified Accountant a distinct advantage. Leaving certificate or equivalent qualification. Minimum one years’ experience working in a busy office environment. Experience of working within a reception role/ environment a distinct advantage. Commitment to a high level of customer care. Excellent Attention to detail. Excellent verbal and communication skills and telephone manner. Excellent working knowledge of Excel. Ability to work to a high standard and proficiency in multi-tasking. A basic understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
